Another Point Scoring Performance from TEAM WD-40

Another consistent performance from Tommy Bridewell and TEAM WD-40 this weekend in Round 4 of the British Superbike championship in Knockhill, Scotland. So far this season Tommy has managed to harvest points from every race so far, however team manager Brent Gladwin says there are still improvements to be made. “whilst we have seen glimpses of brilliance from young Tommy so far, he is still getting to grips with the Kawasaki and its characteristics – in particular its brakes” Tommy is used to riding a Suzuki typically known for its braking power causing him to make some misjudgements when braking around corners and resulting in him crashing twice during practice earlier in the week. After a good qualifying session, Tommy narrowly missed out on pole position by three tenths of a second. After battling hard during race one, Tommy came home to finish in 11th position and after a great battle with Sylvain Guintoli in race two, Tommy finished back in 15th position. After the weekend’s result, Tommy now sits in 12th position in the British Superbike Championship with 37 points, just 14 behind James Ellison in 10th position. A great come back from mason After a win last time out in round 3 of the Pirelli Superstock 1000 Championship at Oulton park, Mason Law came into round 4 at Knockhill brimming with confidence and that showed as Mason was very disappointed to miss out on pole position by seven tenths of a second and started down in 10th position. Nevertheless, Mason fought hard in both races to battle back and finish 4th in both races, this meant that Mason added 26 points to his seasons tally to move up to 5th position in the Pirelli Superstock 1000 Championship overall standings.   Both Tommy Bridewell and Mason Law race again at Snetterton on the 2nd of July.

Steven Petch & Michael Wilkinson entered the DMACK Carlisle Stage at the weekend with a great deal of confidence after their past three successive wins. Typical of the British summer, the rain was pelting down all morning making the driving conditions very wet and slippy, it was a real battle against the elements for all involved. But the guys held their nerve and still managed to put in great performance finishing in 2nd position. Stephen & Micheal missed out on 1st place by ¾ second to Peter Taylor, a local driver who is somewhat more experienced in a wet forest environment. Callum Black, Stephens biggest competitor so far this season finished in 3rd. With this result, Stephen moves upto 3rd in the Overall Championship Standings, just 19 points behind 1st placed Callum Black with 3 races remaining. The next round will be back on Tarmac at the Nicky Grist Stages in Wales on the 8th of july. #WD40RALLY

Carnage in the woods for Danny Hart

Tough weekend ends in disappointment for Danny Hart   WD-40 Athlete Danny Hart like many others rolled into this weekend’s race keen to dominate and provide the world with a true display of his speed and form after the farce of Round 1 in Lourdes when the worlds fasted men were punished by a rapid change in weather conditions. This year a few course changes had been made. A new fast flowing section mid-way down caused no issue, but the infamous woods section lower down the course – this would be where the race was won or lost. To win a rider would need to fully commit, the risk versus reward scenario was very much in play – you could play it safe and bank some championship points, but in doing so you would be saying goodbye to the win. If a rider before you crashed or slid through, then your chances changed every time a rider went before you. Danny was one of the riders who fully committed but unfortunately came to blows with the course falling heavily over the bars. Destroying all chances of a win and even a top 20 position. Danny however wasn’t alone with many riders not even making it through the woods when they had decided to play safe. To put this into some sort of context the top 5 literally reflected the number of people who managed to get through the woods – it was carnage! But that’s the risk of racing – until his crash Danny was several seconds faster than the fastest time of the day. It’s clear that Danny is still in blistering form but the luck has not come his way yet. Onwards to Leogang in Austria for round 3 on the 10th & 11th of June.   Results 1st – Greg Minaar 2nd – Marcelo Gutierrez 3rd – Jack Moir 59th– Danny Hart
