It was a weekend of highs for Team WD-40 at Cadwell Park over the weekend, as the team looked to build on recent performances and end the season on a high. Tommy came into the weekend on the back of a disappointing performance at his home track of Thruxton last time out, but Cadwell Park holds great memories for the Wiltshire rider as this is where he claimed his first BSB race win in 2013! Going into Saturday’s qualifying session, Tommy looked in fine form finishing the third practice session in 11th place, Tommy then followed this up with a b rilliant qualifying session where he qualified in 12th position for the first race of the weekend with a time of 1:27.148. This really set up Tommy’s weekend as he then used this place on the grid to pick through the field and finish race one of the weekend in 9th place, only Tommy’s second top ten of the season! This was then quickly followed up by Tommy’s best result of the season in the second and final race of the weekend, finishing in 6th place and gaining 10 points in the overall standings! A great weekend for Tommy as he moves into 14th in the overall standings with one race of the regular season to go! Podium Finish for the Outlaw! It was also a great weekend for Mason Law, who continued his great form this season with a 3rd place finish in round 8 of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship. This podium finish moved mason up to 4th in the overall standings with one round to go! A weekend of ups and downs for Delves It was a mixed weekend for Liam Delves as he had a brilliant qualifying session and qualified in 7th place, only for a technical fault on the grid meaning he had to start from the back of the grid in 38th place! Non-the less, Liam didn’t let that hold him back as he cut through the pack to finish in 12th place! An unbelievable race for the young rider!! The Boys will be back on track at Silverstone on the 8th-10th of September for the last Round of the regular season!
It was a weekend of ups and downs for Team WD-40 who were back in action in Round 6 of the British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch over the weekend. The weekend started with a gamble by TEAM WD-40 and Tommy Bridewell with the guys deciding to run the bike with both options of tyre in use, using the soft option on the front and the hard option on the rear, Tommy was the only rider in the paddock to do this. In qualifying, it looked as though the gamble wouldn’t pay off as Tommy struggled and made it to 17th on the grid for the first race of the weekend. Although starting from further down the grid, Tommy fought back to finish in 14th place. With another points scoring race under his belt, Tommy looked to improve going into the 2nd race of the weekend. He proved that the gamble on the tyre selection gave him the edge he needed to break away from the middle of the grid with Tommy battling his way into 12th position. These results mean that Tommy has still scored points in every round of the championships and improvement looks to be on the horizon for the Wiltshire rider. Tommy sits in 14th position in the championships standings and will be looking to improve next time out at Thruxton. Frustration for Law Mason Law’s weekend was definitely a tale of up’s and down’s, the weekend started well as Mason rode into 5th place on the grid in qualifying. It went downhill from there, as Mason crashed out in race one and pulled out in race two with a technical fault. After a disappointing weekend, Mason remains in 5th position in the overall standings. He will be hoping his luck improves next time out at Thruxton. TEAM WD-40 will be back in action at Thruxton on the 4th-6th August
Mason Law took to the track for Round 5 of the Pirelli Superstock 1000 at Snetterton. Mason had been flying in practice, finishing 2nd fastest in the first session and 6th fastest in the second session. Despite a slight knock in the opening stages of qualifying, he came through to qualify in 7th position! Mason put in an unbelievable performance, eventually finishing in 2nd place and breaking the lap record by 0.8 seconds along the way! This result moves Mason up to 5th in the overall standings just 11 points off the top 3! Tommy left feeling frustrated Having qualified down in 16th position for race one, Tommy was left in last positon following a crash in very first corner involving fellow rider Billy Mcconnell. Despite this, Tommy fought back to finish in 14th place! This became a familiar result for the Wiltshire rider, came home to finish in the same position in race two! Although continuing put points on the board, 14th positon is becoming a bit of a sticking point and breaking into the top 10 is becoming increasingly difficult, this has left both Tommy and Team manager Brent Gladwin rather frustrated with recent results. Fingers crossed Tommy will be back on form for round 6 of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch later in the month. A quick mention for Liam Delves, who continued his comeback from injury with a solid 7th place in race one and 8th place in race two of the HEL Performance Motostar British Championship!! All of the Team WD40 boys will be back in action at Brands Hatch on the 21st-23rd of July!
