To keep your bike chain in perfect condition during wet weather, you should apply a chain wax after every ride and once you have cleaned your chain. This will reduce wear and tear, maintain the performance of your chain and help it last longer, saving you money on replacement parts.
WD-40 Specialist Motorbike Chain Wax has strong adhesive properties. This makes it perfect for high speed, high stress applications typically associated with motorcycle chains. It is ideal for wet conditions, as the formula thickens and dries, creating a highly water resistant coating to actively prevent rust and corrosion.
Unsure how to get the most from your chain wax? Follow our quick and easy step by step guide.
Step 1: Make sure you have cleaned your chain first with WD-40 Specialist Motorbike Chain Cleaner.
Step 2: Place the motorbike on a suitable stand so that the rear wheel is free to turn! grab your can of Chain Wax!
Step 3: Spray on to the chain and directly on to the sprockets! Do this whilst turning the rear wheel slowly in a clockwise direction.
NOTE: It’s precise spray application minimises any wastage making it easier to apply anywhere you want it.
Step 4: For best results, leave for 10 minutes to ensure the chain links receive deep lubrication! This allows for greater Penetration rather than surface lubrication, this is caused by spraying on top of the chain.
