Is it suitable for electrical components?

Yes — but only when the power is turned off. The product does not conduct electricity and can safely be used around electrical components once they are disconnected from power. For safety reasons, never spray it on live or powered?on electrical equipment.

Is it safe on plastic, rubber?

The product is safe to use on most plastics and rubber materials. Some sensitive plastics, such as polycarbonate or polystyrene, may react if the product is left on the surface for a long time. Certain rubbers may also swell with prolonged contact. To be safe, we recommend testing the product on a small area first and avoiding extended contact on sensitive materials.

Is it safe to use indoor?

Yes, the product can be used indoors. It carries the EU Ecolabel, which means it meets strict environmental criteria and contains only limited amounts of hazardous substances. When using it indoors, make sure the area is well ventilated and keep it away from open flames, as the aerosol is flammable.

What is “bio”? What does 85% bio based mean? What’s it made of?

When we say “bio”, we don’t mean organic farming. In this case, “bio” means bio-based. That means the product is made mostly from renewable natural sources, like plants or other natural materials, instead of being made entirely from fossil fuels like oil. If a product is 85% bio-based, it means that most of the material comes from renewable sources, with a small part still coming from conventional materials. This definition follows official EU rules used for eco-labelled products.

Does "bio-based“ mean that the formula is biodegradable?

Does bio-based mean biodegradable? Not always — but for this product, yes. More than 95% of its ingredients break down quickly in the environment. It is EU Ecolabel certified, which means it meets very strict environmental standards. Is this product food grade approved? What NSF Registration does it have?

Is it non-conductive?

Given that product "evacuation" issues, which occur when some product remains trapped inside a can and cannot be sprayed, are prevalent in the aerosol industry, they can impact the production of certain products. If you encounter difficulties with an aerosol can not spraying, we suggest following this concise troubleshooting guide: Shake the can vigorously. Turn the opening of the aerosol valve to the blue mark on the crown of the can. Hold the can vertically and not at an angle. If you're unable to get a result, contact us and we'll send you a replacement.

When using WD-40 Specialist Bike Degreaser on my bike chain, should I rinse with water afterwards?

With the WD-40 Specialist® Bike Degreaser it is really up to how dirty the components are. The formula itself is fast evaporating and leaves no visible residue. So if it's not too dirty then just spray liberally and use a cloth to collect the dirty liquid, there is no need to use water. If the chain is severely dirty and greasy then it is a very good idea to rinse with water to help ensure that all of the dirty liquid is removed. In some cases you may need to reapply the degreaser to remove all of the previous dirt and greasy grime. Always remember that the WD-40 Specialist Bike Degreaser leaves no residue and therefore is not a corrosion inhibitor. To protect the chain, relubricate with a chain lube or apply a corrosion inhibitor like WD-40® Multi-Use-Product for storage.

Will WD-40 Multi-Use Product remove rust?

WD-40® Multi-Use Product helps remove rust by breaking down the bonds between metal and rust. Spray the rusted surface with WD-40 Multi-Use Product, enough to thoroughly soak the area. Allow it sit for up to 10 minutes. Clean the rusted item with a wire brush. With the rust loosened, the brush should clean away most of the corrosion. For light lubrication especially of locks and catches, you can use WD-40 Multi-Use Product, but for the more specialist user we suggest applying the following after MUP. For light hinges and rails use WD-40 Specialist Silicone (or Specialist Dry PTFE) as it is great at eliminating sticking and binding. Make sure to wipe up any over spray though as we don't want it getting onto any curtains. For heavier windows and ratchet systems use WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease The above two options (Silicone and WLG) would be more than sufficient for any window lubrication and corrosion protection. If you know that a particular window rail, hinge or ratchet will be subject to extreme conditions and are worried about corrosion and seizing then Specialist Spray Grease with the added WD-40 formula would be the one to use for corrosion protection but these situations are unlikely to occur. If you are spraying near a painted surface, be mindful that WD-40® Multi-Use Product may cause stains. We also advise you to contact the manufacturer of the door or windows to ensure using products on them doesn't affect your warranty! Just remember, you should make sure to clean out all the grime to give our greases a fair chance to work and wipe off any excess MUP before applying our greases. Small amounts of MUP left won't affect the performance of our greases. The important thing is to apply our greases to a clean surface with no grime or older grease.

Use WD-40 Specialist® Contact Cleaner Spray when you need to clean the metal electrical contact points in sensitive electronics and electrical equipment, including larger electric motors, armatures, relays, electric panels, and generators. It is safe to use on most plastics, rubber and metal when used as directed - cleans oil, dirt, flux residue and condensation without leaving residue behind. When using, keep the following advice in mind: To prevent any accidental damage always check the manufacturer’s instructions before applying product to device. Do not spray into cavities, openings, gaps or areas of your device where this product does not have sufficient airflow to assist full evaporation. Shake can well and isolate all power, allowing hot surfaces to cool. Tilt surface while cleaning to allow any excess liquid to run off and ensure product is completely dry before restoring power.

How long does WD-40 Multi-Use Product last after application?

WD-40® Multi-Use Product can be used to protect metal brake components while in storage and to assist in dismantling brake assemblies and seized callipers. WD-40 Multi-Use Product should not be sprayed on brakes or any components that require friction.

Can WD-40 Multi-Use Product be used on plastic?

WD-40® Multi-Use Product has been tested on various surfaces and materials with successful results. Although WD-40 Multi-Use Product can be used on a variety of surfaces we recommend testing in an inconspicuous area before larger application. This promotion (this “Promotion”) is promoted by WD-40 Company Limited, a company registered in England with company number 01755958, registered office at 252 Upper Third Stret, Milton Keynes, MK9 1DZ, telephone number (01908) 555400, and VAT registration number 844274910 (the “Promoter”).

The terms and conditions below set out the terms on which you may participate in the Promotion (‘Terms’). Entry into the Promotion shall constitute full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms . Failure to comply with these Terms will result in automatic cancellation of participation and the possible allocation of prizes.

Terms and conditions

1. This Promotion is open to residents of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland only, aged 18 or over on the date on which you enter this Promotion, excluding employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and household members of the Promoter, its agents, and anyone else professionally connected with this Promotion.

2. For a chance to win, the participant must leave their details in the fields shared on the digital form which are: Name, Email Address, Occupation

3. No purchase is necessary to enter this Promotion. However, in order to enter this Promotion you must have an Internet connection.

4. Only 1 entry per person allowed. Participation is strictly personal and may not take place under one or more pseudonym.

4.1. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the participation of a candidate who plays under several different identities.

4.2. The participation of persons who have not provided full contact details and identities or who have provided them in an inaccurate or misleading manner cannot be validated, nor can the participation of persons who refuse the collection, recording and

8. Entry to this promotion opens at 12:01am (UK time) on 12/10/2024 and closes at 11:59pm (UK time) on 13/10/2024 (the “Promotional Period”). Unless all prizes are claimed before this time.

9. Entries received after the end of the Promotional Period (for whatever reason) will be invalid. No entries from agents, third parties, syndicated entries or those made using methods such as a computer macro, script or the use of automated devices are permitted and no bulk entries.

10. The Promoter reserves the right at any time, in its absolute discretion, to: (a) verify the eligibility of any participant (including their age and place of residence); (b) disqualify any participant found to be abusing or tampering with the operation of this Promotion or entering using fraudulent means, or who the Promoter believes to have acted in breach of these terms and conditions; and (c) disqualify participants who do not give correct contact details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf.

11. all prizes will be awarded immediately at the Expo, provided that the prize winner’s identity and win are verified by the Promoter. Prize winners may be asked to present valid identification and any other required documentation to confirm their eligibility and win. Once verification is completed, prizes will be issued directly to the prize winners on-site at the Expo.

12. The Promoter will not be liable if a prize winner cannot take the prize for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control or if the Promoter is unable to contact that prize winner, including due to his or her provision of inaccurate or incomplete information.

13. No cash or other alternatives are available to the prize which is non-transferable and non-exchangeable and cannot be resold. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

14. The personal data collected in the context of this Promotion is intended for WD-40 Company Limited and is intended to organise participation in the Promotion, manage the winners, award prizes and meet legal and regulatory obligations. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of the Promoter’s breach or if they were contemplated by you and the Promoter at the time that you entered this Promotion. 17.1. The Promoters liability is strictly limited to the delivery of the prizes actually and validly won.
