So you’ve bought home a new motorbike, mastered washing, waxing and polishing it, but knowing how to maintain and keep it running in top condition is another. Motorbike chains are vulnerable to debris on the road, and this can cause long-term issues if not maintained regularly. As well as unsightly, this can lead to the chain having a shorter life span, so it is vital to keep the motorcycle chain clean. So, how does one clean a motorbike chain? This step-by-step guide will reduce wear and tear along with maintaining performance for a longer duration.
First things first, before applying Motorbike Chain Cleaner, place the motorbike on a suitable stand so that the rear wheel is free to turn. Next, place a Drip Tray under the bike to avoid spillage or excess liquid.
Secondly, spray Motorbike Chain Cleaner liberally onto the chain. The powerful aerosol blast will remove any oil, grease deposits, road dust and dirt. We advise allowing it to remain in contact for at least five minutes.
After letting the solution settle, utilise a Motorcycle Chain Cleaning Brush then remove any stubborn dirt or grime.
After scrubbing away, it is finally time to complete the job. Pick up a Cleaning Cloth and start removing any remaining dirt or solution.
