You wash, polish, and wax your car. You take it for its annual MOT, and you vacuum it every weekend. It’s your baby – but do you often forget about the smaller details? Did somebody say alloy wheel rim protection?
It is essential to maintain your car’s alloy on the wheels and rims because these are the parts of your car that are the most prone to getting dirty and damaged, regardless of whether they are steel, alloy, or other materials. This step-by-step guide to alloy wheel rim protection will leave them free of any unwanted dirt or grime!
Firstly, before you go applying your handy WD-40 Multi-Use Product on your alloy wheel, you’ll need to start with a pre-wash and remove any loose dirt using a Soft-Bristled Brush. Use the brush, especially around the spokes, this will clear the wheel’s surface and not scratch or dull car paint or chrome finishes.
Secondly, apply the WD-40 Multi-Use Product onto a Cleaning Cloth. Begin to rub the entire surface of the alloy wheel, focus on the areas with remaining stubborn grime or brake dust. Please be advised this should be applied using a cloth to avoid getting any on the wheel or brake pads. Doing so could damage the brake pads and undermine the tyre’s performance.
Finally, wash off the excess dirt and WD-40 solution with a hose until it becomes smooth. Now apply these steps to the remaining alloy rims on the vehicle. Et voila!
