How To Maintain Silver Jewellery
You’ve got a collection of silver jewellery that you love, perhaps its precious, and you’re starting to worry that it might become damaged or dull? Do you wish you could keep it in the condition it was when you first got it? You might think its tricky to keep on top of protecting your silver, but you don’t want to forget about it and have your collection end up stored away and forgotten. It’s important to retain the beauty of silver jewellery and to keep it gleaming, but it’s easy for it to tarnish over time. However, it’s even easier to maintain it!

Things you will need
Step 1
Prepare your jewellery
Firstly, gather all your silver jewellery and equipment you’ll need, and lay an old plastic table cloth down, or a bin liner . This is optional, but it’s a good idea to protect your work surface from any possible damage, just in case!
Step 2
Wash
With a bowl of warm, soapy water, and an old toothbrush, gently scrub your silver to remove any dirt or grime. This is just to remove any excess dirt that may have built up over time.
Place on towel, and allow to air dry for 5/10 minutes. Leaving it to air dry, as opposed to drying it yourself with a towel will protect the jewellery from damage, such as scratches that could be caused by using rough material.
Step 3
Apply Product
Now that your jewellery is dry, grab your can of WD-40 Multi-Purpose Product, and a microfibre cloth. Spray the WD-40 Product onto the silver, and gently massage in, using the cloth. This will help prevent tarnish building up again.
You may want to repeat the process, adding more WD-40 if needed.
Step 4
Rinse and Buff
Once satisfied, rinse your silver jewellery in clean water to remove any remaining residue. Then, buff with a clean microfibre cloth, to remove any remaining product.
